Falcon Gold conducts its exploration activities while being sensitive to and prioritizing, environmental, social, and health and safety performance and subscribes voluntarily to the principles contained within the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) E3 Plus Framework for Responsible Exploration. The Company incorporates these principles, to the fullest extent possible, into its administrative and exploration activities. The E3 Plus Principles for Responsible Exploration and their integration into Falcon Gold’s operational parameters are listed below:
1. Adopt Responsible Governance and Management
Objective: To base the operation of exploration on sound management systems, professional excellence, the application of good practices, constructive interaction with stakeholders, and principles of sustainable development.
Our activities are conducted with an eye to sustainable or zero harm/impact practices and with respect of applicable laws, ethical conduct, transparency, fairness, and taking into account affected community stakeholders.
2. Apply Ethical Business Practices
Objective: To have management procedures in place that promote honesty, integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Ethical conduct is essential to a company’s image and credibility. Falcon Gold’s management has adopted ethical standards and has established policies regarding the reporting of conflicts of interest and non-ethical conduct.
3. Respect Human Rights
Objective: To promote the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights by incorporating them into policies and operational procedures for exploration.
We respect human rights in every aspect of our business activities. Working conditions adhere to national laws and provide equal opportunities regarding employment, compensation, training, and advancement.
4. Commit to Project Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
Objective: To conduct an evaluation of risks, opportunities, and challenges for exploration, and prepare strategies and operational plans to address them before going into the field.
Prior to project acquisition and exploration activities, Falcon Gold analyzes all available information and engages with host communities and other affected/interested parties concerning social, cultural, political, environmental, local and regional conditions.
5. Engage Host Communities and Other Affected and Interested Parties
Objective: To interact with communities, indigenous people, organizations, groups and individuals on the basis of respect, inclusion, and meaningful participation.
Falcon Gold strives to maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with local communities in the area of influence of our exploration projects. We consult with local governments and inform the local population of our activities.
6. Contribute to Community Development and Social Well-being
Objective: To have measures in place which support the social and economic advancement and capacity building of communities whose lives are affected by exploration while respecting the communities’ own vision of development.
Falcon Gold’s projects are at the exploration stage and the Company has no developed or producing mines at present. We contribute, to the extent we can, to the economic development and social well-being of communities surrounding our projects by hiring local workers, and procuring goods and materials from local suppliers.
7. Protect the Environment
Objective: To conduct exploration activities in ways that create minimal disturbance to the environment and people.
Falcon Gold’s exploration footprint is very light. Activities are planned and conducted in a manner which minimizes or prevents impacts on the environment and local populations.
8. Safeguard the Health and Safety of Workers and the Local Population
Objective: To be proactive in implementing good practices for health and safety
Falcon Gold conducts its activities in a manner which prioritizes the health and security of its workers. Management evaluates the potential risks of its activities, develops prevention and risk management procedures, and ensures employees have the necessary training and qualifications — especially those working with vehicles and specialized equipment.
